Tips for Men’s Mental Health and Wellbeing

Reach out to others, start talking - try to find at least one person you can open up to as a man, if you’re struggling with a physical or mental health issue.

Focus on staying true to yourself and not try to compare yourself to others.

Learn how to ask for help - the next time you feel physically or mentally ill, call your medical health professional and get the help you need, before the problem gets worse.

Avoid using alcohol and/or drugs to cope – this can lead to drug and alcohol abuse and will just give temporary reprieve from the real problems, which will be better addressed with the help of family, friends or health professionals.

Get regular physical exercise – this can help to improve your general well-being. This includes better self- esteem, less stress and anxiety and more of that “feel good” mentality.
